Mount Hood is the most beautiful mountain I have ever seen! This hike was filled will excellent views, strenuous climbs, old growth forests, knee deep snow, and hard as heck ridges! We had planned on backcountry camping, but the stream crossing was too risky and we never found a suitable place to camp other than the designated site, so we did this as a very hard day hike! It was well worth it, though! We hiked about 10 miles over 9 hours, with a lot of stops to enjoy the views. Once we reached the top at the McNeil Point shelter, we were lucky it was a clear day and we could see the Washington mountains- Adams, St Helens, and Rainier.
