At first my brother and I tried to find this fire tower from the south Switzer Dam area.  There were some areas that looked like the used to be passable Jeep trails, but none we were willing to try in my Wrangler.  There is private property at the top of the mountain near 33.  I was first told that the fire tower was a "short easy stroll down a fire road from 33"  Apparently that access is private and strongly posted against tresspassing.  The hike from the parking area (right off 33 on the WVa side) is nice, though not a stroll.  It is well marked and steep in short sections.  The view from the tower is beautiful.
